    Default folder settings changed for more privacy
    Published on: 2013.01.16

    The default access rights for RapidShare folders are changing today. A folder with no specific access rights will now be treated as a "private" folder. This means even if someone knows a download link of a file, the file cannot be downloaded as long as you don't change the setting. In your File Manager you can always check the access right setting of all folders.

    Hello, Dear Dave!

    I experimented with my Rapidshare account and came to the following conclusions: the attempt to change the settings of an existing folder (right click on the folder ---> Privileges ---> Public Access, the middle item "Users are allowed to download data from this folder") to nothing lead. But if you create a new folder with an initially given such access rights, and then move there all files, they are downloaded from it without any problems from any account or not.
    I hope it will help you restore access to your files. You have no idea how many people would be grateful to you. Thanks in advance and Good Luck!!!

    Rapidshare changed their policy to make all folders "Private" by default unless they are specifically set to allow "Public" downloads. I believe this is now preventing downloading of QB links from RS.

    PLEASE NOTE: A HUGE portion of my links will be deleted by rapidshare on April 8 (approx 75% of them!) due to there new limit restrictions.
    I would need almost $400 a year top keep them active and I will not do it.
